Discovering new designers is one of my favorite things to do, so I was jazzed when I found the contemporary label, JUNIM LA. I simply adore their signature, indio silk prints, which I learned from designer, Haley Solar, are created through artisanal, dying techniques. Many of her fabrics replicate the gorgeous, nuances of the LA sky. Junim is concerned for the environment, and most of her designs are made using up to 90% reclaimed fabrics. Haley chooses a mixture of traditional and natural dyes, often using vegetables and tea, to create a vintage feel which adds a richness not found in mass produced fabrications. Each of their gorgeous designs is dyed, and completely hand made, all in their Hollywood Hills studio. JUNIM is a luxurious, contemporary, line that offers a collection of timeless, clothes for the sophisticated buyer that cares about the environment and appreciates quality and luxury. Haley makes it easy to dress in style, all while maintaing the appearance of fresh, comfortable, bohemian chic. Take a minute to read more about Haley’s design approach and philosophy in our interview below:

Haley, where do you call home?
I live in one of the most magical places in LA, Beachwood canyon; it's in the East Hollywood Hills, right under the Hollywood sign. We are surrounded by nature to the north and city to the south.
What's your design philosophy?
I keep my silhouettes simple; clothing should make a woman feel like she's transforming into a better version of herself, never someone else.
What sparked the inspiration for this collection, and/or what is inspiring you lately?
LA is always inspiring to me! My Indio collection is hand dyed silk, inspired by the Los Angeles sky at different times throughout the day.
Do you have a favorite piece in your current collection?
The gold dust pullover for holiday, it looks like a firework of sparkle, but feels like pajamas.
Who are your favorite designers?
I feel such kinship with Stone Cold Fox, since we're both from Orange County! They really have an amazing aesthetic and know how to merge strength and femininity.
What does every girl “need” in her closet?
An organizer! My wardrobe tripled when I built out a custom organizer. I can see everything I own, and each morning I feel like I'm styling a photo shoot, not just getting dressed!
What's your mantra?
You can make your own magic.
Best advice that you've ever gotten?
"Make it work" I'm such a cheeseball for quoting Tim Gunn, but I think anyone who owns a small business does this everyday.
