Fire, Fire, Fire, . . .

Those girls are on FIRE . . .Thank God, I just sold a painting!  The new Spell look book Lost in Savanna is out!!  It’s everything that I to want to wear and more. Those Spell sisters have done it again. I am loving the whole feel of the re-vamped animal prints, the pops of pink, and you know, I will wear velvet anytime, and secretly long to wear it everyday.  Model Tallulah is such an exotic beauty, and Spell certainly captured her wild essence.  I love the earthy, rocker vibe, and please, Luciana Rose, come and style my hair -- it’s pure, grungy goodness. Go now, and SHOP the drop before it’s all gone!

No destination in mind . . .

“A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving.” - Lao Tzu

With no fixed plans, we snatched a long nose boat in Krabi, flipped open our Lonely Planet guide book, and said to the captain, “take us to Railay Bay”.  This trip was a wild, and mind-blowing, adventure.  It was my first time traveling with no set agenda.  We had no clue where we were going, how long we would be staying, or on what pillow we would rest our heads.  It was thrilling to be on the open ocean, floating around incredible, rock formations and uninhabited, green islands. I can’t begin to fathom the infinite, ancient stories that live on, within this magical territory.  As night was setting in, we jumped out of the boat, and guided by flickering fireflies, set out in search of a place to spend the night.

Railay beach is a small peninsula; there are no roads, or cars.  It was hot, and I’d overpacked.  I felt a momentary anxiety set in, as I realized we didn’t know where we were going, and we didn’t have a plan.  The sky continued to darken, and so did my mood.  I felt lost in a strange land.  So, I must admit, I was beyond happy when we stumbled onto the intriguing  beachy, tree house, cottages of the Railay Beach Club. These accommodations provided an amazing, experience of a traditional Thai home.

It’s funny, if you just let go . . . be with what is, how nicely things can unfold - how in any given moment, if we just surrender to the here and now, everything is simply okay (or better).  It’s the regrets of the past, or worries about the future, that cause most of our fears and anxiety.  I’m beginning to realize, this letting go, is the lesson of my life.  We have to surrender to the “what is”.  Life is unpredictable.  One minute we might experience intense joy, and then something rocks our world and it’s easy to get sucked into that unfolding drama.  But, if we are somehow able to suspend our judgement about how things “should” be, it almost always turns out perfectly, and often, better than we imagined.

I recently discovered another, super cool, clothing company, Golden Dreamers, which is based in Australia. Designers Rae Byron and Lisa Tolley have created this label which is perfect for the modern boho girl. According to the company, it's a bit of "hippie 70's with a little modern glam and glitter". They create their looks for a "free spirited woman, with a bit of edge".  This over-the-top, two piece is beautifully embellished with hand-sewn gems.  I had a blast playing on the beach in Thailand while rockin' this flirty look.  It's definitely a statement piece that will get you more than just a little attention. I can't wait to mix it up in some fun looks that I'll be wearing this summer.
