Ten thousand blossoms in spring, the moon in autumn,
a cool breeze in summer, snow in winter.
If your mind isn’t clouded by unnecessary things,
this is the best season of your life.

I'm thrilled to be part of a fun, fall collaboration with Free People called, Thermal Nation, which is showcasing the unique styling efforts of ten of their favorite bloggers.  The event is coming to an end, but you can check out all of the looks by searching hashtag #FPThermalNation.
Driving up one of our local canyons, on the way to shoot my We The Free Kyoto Cuff Thermal top, I was surprised at how many leaves had already fallen. We had an early snow this year; that, combined with not a lot of rain this fall, and our autumn splendor just kind of petered out. But it was still beyond beautiful in the mountains of Utah. The late afternoon light cascaded over the top of the ridge and lit up the bright yellow and red grasses on the hillside like a fire. We pulled over near Rattle Snake Gultch and hiked up a little hill. The colors of nature are always on point -- the bleached out grey of a fallen log, the cool, blue-green pines, the subtle, rust of crunchy leaves on ground, the dark earth beneath the sand-stone rocks. One of the reasons I choose the charcoal, grey thermal from FP, was because I knew I could mix it into a huge range of looks and colors. Greys are wonderful, because they can provide a neutral, contrasting ground allowing a brighter color to pop and sing. The beauty of this top is highlighted in the unexpected detailing of the sleeves. Like stacks of bracelets, the intricate stitching and detailing make this shirt feel extra special and fun to wear.

. . . Unraveling Lóve Affair . . . ↲

"There is no truth. There is only perception." – Gustave Flaubert

I confess . . . my love affair for Rodarte, fashion house continues to unravel.  Although, most of these designer knits were created seasons ago,  I'm still enchanted with the idea of layering these exotic, silky-soft, hand knitted sweaters.  For me, fall, is all about embracing  warmth - delighting in color - and always staying cozy and chic.
